I want to see you 'in action' at another reception. Where and when can I do this?
Because of privacy issues, we do not invite prospective clients to private parties for which we're contracted. Instead, we would be happy to give you a list of recent wedding clients, other professional vendors that recommend us exclusively, as well as some of the venues at which we've performed.
Our event is not located in the Seattle area. Do you travel? If so, what is the charge?
Yes we do travel. We operate from Portland Oregon, to Vancouver B.C. and everywhere in-between. Ask for our "Travel and destination fee" schedule for more details.
Is set-up time included? Either way, what time will you arrive at the venue?
Set-up time is included. Only under extreme cases will you ever be charged extra for set-up. Usually, additional charges will apply if the venue is extremely difficult to load into, or your event requires extra equipment. We will typically arrive at the venue approximately ninety minutes prior to the start time. Regardless, we will never load equipment into the facility while guests are present.
Do you have any specific set-up requirements at the venue?
Yes and no. Some local venues simply cannot provide the space we would ultimately like. This is why we utilize the most compact equipment available, without sacrificing sound quality. However, if you're curious about floor plans, and our "in-a-perfect-world" space requirement drawings, you can download the documents here.
We want to hire you, but wondered if you would come to the venue to set-up early, and then start our contract time a couple hours after the guests arrive. Is this possible?
Yes. You would be charged a simple 'stand-by' fee to accommodate this request. However, we prefer to be available to you for the entire time you, and your guests are present at the venue.
We know every single song that we want played throughout the entire reception. We even have the CD's numbered and a detailed spreadsheet as to when we would like it played. Can you accommodate us?
Sure! We'll contact a local AV company to drop off a sound system and you can run it yourself. Seriously, if your contemplating hiring a true Professional, we ask our clients to submit 10-15 songs they 'really' want at the reception. The Disc Jockey needs the freedom to read the crowd when it comes to the music. A set play list never works. Trust us.
However, we will accommodate your request list and fit the music in the mix. We just simply ask that you try not to program the entire night. As far as the exact scenario listed above? We would kindly decline this booking.
Once we hire your company, when would we finalize our planning process with you?
Typically one to two months prior to your event is sufficient. We also have extensive online tools to help you. Want to utilize those tools? Pease contact us for a password.
We would like to reserve your services, how much of a retainer/deposit do you require, and what are the terms?
Typically, we require a $350 retainer to reserve the date. The final balance is due no later than two weeks prior to your event. A full disclosure of other terms are listed on the contract.
We would like you to provide sound and music for our ceremony as well. Are you able to do this?
Absolutely! For a nominal fee we will provide a completely separate sound system for your ceremony. This system consists of 2 wireless microphone systems, CD, MD, and yes even a tape (what is that?) player for the vocalist. Ask for details about pricing. If your ceremony will be taking place at the same location, and in the same room as the reception will be held, normally we will not charge a separate fee. The only exception would be if you would like lavaliere microphones for the groom and minister.
What method of payments do you accept??
Personal check, Cash.
Do you have bubble machines and fog?
Yes we do! We can customize your event exactly the way you want it to be.
Do you use tape, 8-track, reel-to-reel, DAT, MD, Vinyl or CD?
Our main DJ system utilizes state of the art Digital music crates (Rane Serato) and CD. The only exception would be is if we were providing an instrumental to a vocalist, or similar. Tape decks are NOT a standard piece of equipment we carry unless it's specified up-front by our clients. Tape players and Mini-Disc are standard in our smaller, additional system.
